CGT to meet with 20+ unions to define new protest actions

The General Confederation of Labor (CGT) has scheduled a meeting of its expanded 'mesa chica' for Tuesday, September 29, at the UOCRA union headquarters. More than 20 unions will participate to evaluate the next steps of their 'plan de lucha' following several recent marches.

Key agenda items include defining new protest actions, discussing the upcoming Federal University March on October 15, and analyzing recent INDEC data regarding increases in poverty and unemployment. Union leaders will also consider the possibility of organizing a new mobilization in October, potentially prior to a papal visit.

Concurrently, the Argentine Confederation of Transport Workers (CATT), led by Juan Carlos Schmid, will host a forum titled ‘Democracy in dispute: the rights and challenges of the popular field’ at the CGT headquarters. This event aims to reflect on the political and social reality of Latin America, featuring sociologist Emir Sader and former Labor Minister Kelly Olmos.
