Chad-Sudan border airstrike leaves 12 dead
An airstrike near the border between Chad and Sudan has left 12 people dead and seven others injured. According to security sources, the strike targeted a market in the Antchong area where the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) were reportedly procuring fuel.
Local media and security officials have attributed the attack to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). However, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed surprise at these claims, stating they were made without professional verification, and maintained that Sudan respects Chad's national sovereignty.
The United States, through its embassy in Khartoum, condemned the recent airstrikes conducted by the Sudanese Armed Forces within Chadian territory. Tensions are rising as Sudan has accused both Chad and Ethiopia of providing support to the RSF, a claim both nations deny.
