Challenger Gold launches 35,000‑metre drilling campaign at Hualilán in Argentina
Challenger Gold Limited, through its subsidiary Golden Mining, has begun a 35,000‑metre diamond‑drilling program at the Hualilán gold deposit in San Juan Province, Argentina. The first two of four drilling rigs are already operating on site, with a total workforce of 78 direct employees and six geologists. Local contractors Eco Minera S.A. and Perforaciones Iglesianas S.R.L. are providing drilling services.
The project is financed by an $85 million capital raise and targets an estimated 2.8 million ounces of gold equivalent contained in 60.6 million tonnes of ore at an average grade of 1.4 g/t AuEq. The campaign includes 5,000 metres of geotechnical drilling to support a future heap‑leach operation and aims to expand known mineralization and convert resources within the open‑pit design.
