Chaminés de Fada geological formations to open in Goiás

The Chaminés de Fada, a rare geological formation located in Campos Belos, Goiás, is scheduled to officially open for tourism by the end of September 2026. These natural stone towers, created through differential erosion, are considered unique in Brazil due to their scale, height, and state of preservation.

To ensure sustainable and low-impact tourism, visitation will be strictly controlled. Access will be limited to a maximum of 50 tourists per day, organized in small groups of up to six people and accompanied by mandatory local guides. The tour route covers approximately two kilometers.

Goiás Turismo plans to promote the site at national and international fairs and work toward integrating the municipality into the Brazilian Tourism Map. Technical coordination is being supported by the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), which has assisted in the scientific registration of the phenomenon. Preparations are currently in the final stages, including the development of an online booking system and coordination with local security and fire departments.
