Andhra Pradesh CM Naidu announces tribal welfare and land reform initiatives

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced several state-wide initiatives focused on tribal welfare, land reform, and national participation. The government has allocated Rs 4,764 crore for the development of 27.39 lakh tribal members, aiming to provide safe drinking water and housing to every tribal family by 2027. Infrastructure improvements include the establishment of cell towers for digital connectivity, mobile medical units, and the ‘Adavi Talli Bata’ road initiative.

In terms of land administration, the Chief Minister stated that a comprehensive land re-survey process is underway and is expected to be completed by 2027. This includes the issuance of Pattadar Passbooks featuring blockchain technology and security features to prevent tampering. Naidu recently ordered the removal of 2,745 acres from the prohibited Section 22A registry to resolve long-standing disputes for farmers and ex-servicemen.

Additionally, Naidu has called for a mass movement titled ‘Partners in Nation Building’ to encourage public participation in the state’s development goals for 2047. However, the YSRCP opposition has criticized the administration, alleging that the government has failed to fulfill election promises and has neglected farmers' issues and law and order.
