Changan launches AI‑enabled hybrid SUV and sedan in China
Chinese automaker Changan introduced two new hybrid models for the domestic market: the CS75 Plus SUV and the fourth‑generation Eado sedan. Both vehicles use the BlueCore HEV system, combine 1.5‑litre gasoline engines with electric motors (217 hp for the sedan, 245 hp for the SUV), and feature a 1.7 kWh lithium‑ion battery pack. Prices start at 79,900 yuan (about US$60,000) for the sedan and 109,900 yuan (about US$82,500) for the SUV. The cars run on TianShu OS and incorporate DeepSeek AI for voice commands, advanced driver‑assist functions, and autonomous parking. Changan aims to regain market share after a 51 % drop in domestic sales earlier in 2026, targeting higher efficiency and technology appeal.
The launch comes amid a broader slowdown in China’s auto sector, prompting manufacturers to focus on electrified and AI‑enhanced vehicles to attract cost‑conscious consumers.
