Changdeokgung and Changgyeonggung Palaces to Host Night Tours

The Cultural Heritage Administration's Royal Palaces and Sites Headquarters, in collaboration with the Korea Heritage Agency, will host a special night exploration program titled ‘Donggwol Dongrak’ from November 10 to 15. The event offers a 110-minute immersive experience connecting Changdeokgung and Changgyeonggung palaces.

A highlight of the program is the opening of Yeongchunmun, a gate typically closed to the general public, allowing visitors to walk between the rear gardens of both palaces. The tour features guided storytelling by performers dressed as painters from the Joseon-era Dohwaseo office, alongside small-scale theatrical performances at key locations including Myeongjeongjeon, Tongmyeongjeon, Uiduhap, and Daechundangji.

Participants can also enjoy traditional Korean music performances at Yeonghwadang and interact with actors reenacting royal daily life. The program includes free time to stroll through the gardens, refreshments, and tea. To ensure fairness, a lottery system has been introduced for ticket applications, which will be held via Ticketlink from October 22 to October 28. The participation fee is 40,000 KRW per person.
