Changhua County launches long‑term care building and youth housing lottery
The Changhua County Government held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new four‑storey long‑term care and welfare building in the Minzu New Village area. County Mayor Wang Hui‑mei noted the project is funded with NT$1.116 billion from the Ministry of Health and Welfare and NT$1.842 billion from the county, with total costs of approximately NT$3.051 billion. The facility will provide services for the elderly, children, and people with disabilities, including a day‑care centre for infants, a resource centre, and dedicated dementia‑care spaces.
In a separate initiative, the county announced the results of the eligibility review for the Yuanlin Youth Housing program and scheduled a public lottery on 30 July. Of 1,064 applications, 994 met the criteria, and 42 housing units—ranging from one‑ to two‑bedroom apartments—will be allocated through the lottery, which will be overseen by legal and administrative officials to ensure transparency.
