Changhua County launches youth baseball and football tournaments

The Changhua County Government hosted two youth sports events in late July. The 2026 fourth Half‑Line Cup community baseball championship opened on July 25 in Yongjing Township, featuring 32 teams and about 570 players from across Taiwan. County Magistrate Wang Hui‑mei attended and highlighted the tournament as a flagship baseball brand for the region.

From July 25 to 27 the county also held the second Guashan Cup football championship at the Changhua County Sports Stadium. The competition drew 35 teams and 477 players across four age groups, with a first‑time inter‑county match against a school from Nantou. Wang announced a NT$20.07 million funding package for new and renovated football fields and reaffirmed the county’s commitment to grassroots talent development.
