Chania businessman Manolis Rodousakis killed in car accident

Manolis Rodousakis, a prominent businessman in Chania, died following a car accident on Saturday, October 17. The collision occurred shortly after 3:00 PM at the Platanias junction on the VOAK highway when the vehicle driven by Rodousakis and his wife collided with a van carrying three children.

Rodousakis's wife, Maria, was injured in the crash. The local traffic police are currently investigating the circumstances of the accident.

Rodousakis was well-known in the local community for his various businesses, including a car dealership in Chania, a construction materials yard, and a gas station in Kissamos. He gained national attention in 2024 for a road safety initiative where his gas station became the first in Greece to refuse fuel to motorcyclists not wearing helmets, a movement that later spread across the country.
