Chania hosts Traditional Strata cultural event

The Chania Municipality is continuing its fifth annual Traditional Strata event, which brings Cretan heritage to the streets of the Old Town and the Venetian Harbor.

On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 19:30, the Stavraetoi Traditional Association and the Hordaki Cultural Association ‘I Skloka’ will present ‘Tsi Lyras ta patimata’. The performance features music by Nikos Dimotakis and his group. The procession will begin at Nea Chora beach, make a stop at the Glass Mosque, and conclude at the Square of the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Theotokos in Chania.

The event takes place every Tuesday over the coming months, utilizing music, dance, and traditional costumes to showcase the region's cultural and musical identity to residents and visitors.
