Chania Municipality announces new administrative structure

The Mayor of Chania, Panagiotis Simanidrakis, has announced a new administrative structure for the Municipality of Chania. The decision establishes the new Deputy Mayors and Mandated Municipal Councilors, effective from September 1, 2026.

The newly appointed Deputy Mayors will oversee various sectors, including financial services, digital governance, education, culture, municipal police, social policy, technical services, sports, public health, environment, and tourism. Additionally, several Mandated Municipal Councilors have been assigned to specific responsibilities such as lighting and networks, renewable energy, and municipal childcare centers.
