Dominican Republic launches radio‑teletón for Venezuela and delivers local aid projects

Dominican television networks will join a nationwide radio‑teletón on 29 June to raise humanitarian aid for families affected by the crisis in Venezuela. Channels including RTVD, Color Visión, Telesistema, Teleantillas, Coral 39 and Antena 21, together with radio stations Dominicana FM, Quisqueya FM and Panorama, will broadcast the event from noon to 7 p.m. The drive will collect medical supplies, food, hygiene products and rescue equipment, which will be shipped from the port of Sans Souci by boat and two defence‑minister‑provided aircraft.

Separately, the Fundación GBC organized a free medical operation in Cristo Rey, serving more than 300 residents with family medicine, dentistry, gynecology, cardiology, pediatrics and ophthalmology, plus medicines, food rations, disinfectant kits, toys and maternity baskets. Founder Raymond Rodríguez said the mission “brings health and hope to our most vulnerable families.”

In Santo Domingo Norte, the foundation Juventud por mi Barrio and the Christian Center EINSOF thanked Propeep and its director Robert Polanco for delivering a new house to a family that had lived in vulnerable conditions for years. President Wilmer Figuereo expressed optimism that “when we unite efforts we can achieve great change.”
