Charity expedition in vintage Żuk travels to support Vilnius hospice
A charity expedition is traveling from Poland to Vilnius, Lithuania, in a vintage Żuk vehicle to raise funds for the Father Michał Sopoćko Hospice. The mission aims to collect 350,000 PLN, which would cover approximately half of the facility's monthly operating costs.
The hospice, run by Polish religious sisters including Michaela Rak, is the only institution of its kind in Lithuania providing free assistance to over 400 people annually. The expedition, organized by Sebastian Jaworski, involves a 1,600-kilometer journey that includes stops for concerts and community engagement to attract donations.
Participants in the journey include volunteers and musicians. The group has noted positive public reception and interest from the Polish diaspora in Scandinavia. The expedition is expected to reach its destination in Vilnius by the upcoming Sunday.
