Charity initiatives fund medical equipment for Italian pediatric units
Local fundraising efforts in Italy have provided essential medical equipment for pediatric and neonatal departments. In Crotone, the “Una cena per piccoli e grandi sorrisi” initiative, involving local restaurateurs and businesses, raised over 15,000 euros. These funds were used to purchase four new beds for the Pediatrics department at the San Giovanni di Dio hospital, which have already been in use for two months.
In Tuscany, the “Facciamo sentire il nostro amore” campaign led by Conad Nord Ovest raised 409,100 euros for the Azienda USL Toscana Sud Est. This funding has enabled the Montepulciano Birth Point at Nottola hospital to acquire advanced electromedical devices, including a pediatric ventilator, a transport ventilator, a humidifier, a high-flow device, a bilirubinometer, and an ultrasound machine. These tools are intended to support neonatal intensive care, early diagnosis of congenital heart disease, and non-invasive oxygen therapy.
