Charity support for Italian pediatric healthcare

Charitable initiatives in Italy have focused on improving the environment and medical capabilities of pediatric and neonatal departments through various donation models.

Initial efforts centered on providing toys and games to enhance the hospital experience for young patients. In Città di Castello, the ‘Giocattolo sospeso’ initiative and local associations donated toys to the Alto Tevere hospital. Similarly, in Grosseto, the group ToscanaBricks, supported by the Fairy Bricks association, donated Lego sets to the Misericordia hospital to provide creative distraction during the healing process.

Subsequent fundraising efforts shifted toward providing essential medical technology. In Crotone, a local dining initiative raised over 15,000 euros to purchase four new beds for the San Giovanni di Dio hospital. In Tuscany, the ‘Facciamo sentire il nostro amore’ campaign raised 409,100 euros for the Azienda USL Toscana Sud Est. These funds allowed the Montepulciano Birth Point at Nottola hospital to acquire advanced electromedical devices, including ventilators, humidifiers, and ultrasound machines to support neonatal intensive care and early diagnosis.
