Charity initiatives launched in Slovenia and Croatia to support vulnerable groups
In Slovenia, the Lions Club Novo mesto organized its fourteenth annual charity hike on Trška Gora. The event, held under the slogan “Steps for greater independence and dignity,” aims to raise funds for the Association of Paraplegics of Dolenjska, Bela Krajina, and Posavje. The primary goal is to purchase a new adapted vehicle to improve access to medical treatments, employment, and education for members with mobility challenges. Additionally, a portion of the funds will support socially disadvantaged high school and university students.
In Croatia, the “Sretno odrastanje” association in Osijek has launched a Christmas donation campaign. The initiative seeks to collect food, hygiene products, and monetary donations to support families in need, specifically targeting victims of domestic violence and individuals in difficult life circumstances. The association is requesting items such as canned goods, spices, baby products, and household supplies to create holiday packages for those in need.
