Paris Games Week 2026 opens amid security concerns

The 15th edition of Paris Games Week is currently taking place at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles from October 22 to 25, 2026. This year’s Playground Edition features an interactive experience guided by a mobile application, with major studios including Capcom, SEGA, Ubisoft, and Activision presenting playable titles and previews.

Notable highlights include an exclusive French presentation of Final Fantasy VII Revelation by director Naoki Hamaguchi on the Nintendo stand, and the European debut of Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance at the Capcom booth. Other featured content includes Rayman Legends Retold from Ubisoft and The Witcher 3 expansions from CD Projekt Red.

The convention follows recent widespread looting of video game and pop culture retailers across France, including incidents in Nice, Marseille, and Lille. While the event proceeded as planned, organizers and exhibitors have implemented increased security measures, including additional private security personnel, to address community concerns regarding safety.
