Charles Schwab to expand crypto platform with Solana, Avalanche, and Chainlink

Charles Schwab has announced plans to expand its Schwab Crypto platform by adding Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), and Chainlink (LINK) to its existing digital asset offerings. The expansion, expected to occur in the coming months, will increase the platform's selection from two cryptocurrencies—Bitcoin and Ethereum—to five.

Joe Vietri, Head of Digital Assets at Charles Schwab, stated that the move aims to provide clients with more choices to build digital asset allocations alongside their existing investing and banking services. The new assets will be available for direct trading through Schwab.com, the Schwab Mobile app, and the thinkorswim platform.

Each cryptocurrency transaction on the platform will incur a fee of 0.75% (75 basis points) of the trade's dollar value. The service is currently available in all US states except New York and Louisiana, and is not offered in US territories or internationally. Schwab Crypto is serviced through the company's bank subsidiary, Charles Schwab Premier Bank, with execution handled by Paxos.
