Chef Cristiano Tomei and L’Imbuto featured in Marvel comic

Tuscan chef Cristiano Tomei and his Lucca-based restaurant, L’Imbuto, will be featured in a new Marvel comic book titled ‘Spider-Man: Meals to Astonish – Cucina da Eroi’. The anthology, published by Panini Comics, includes a story titled ‘L’Imbuto del caos’ where Marvel characters, including Iron Man and the Avengers, visit the restaurant.

The comic, written by Marco Rizzo with art by Giuseppe Camuncoli, Roberto Poggi, and Mattia Iacono, depicts the chef and his culinary team as comic book characters while maintaining their real names and profession. The project will debut on October 28 during the Lucca Comics & Games 2026 festival, with a general release in bookstores and comic shops on November 5.
