Chega proposes 50+ witnesses for Luís Neves parliamentary inquiry

The Chega parliamentary group has submitted a list of over 50 individuals to be heard during the parliamentary inquiry into Luís Neves’s tenure as Director of the Judicial Police (PJ) between 2018 and 2026. The proposed witnesses include high-ranking political figures such as former Prime Minister António Costa, current Minister of Justice Rita Alarcão Júdice, and former Justice Ministers Francisca Van Dunem and Catarina Sarmento e Castro.

The inquiry also seeks to hear from current PJ Director Carlos Cabreiro, former director Almeida Rodrigues, and various judicial and police officials. Additionally, the list includes journalists Sandra Felgueiras and Felícia Cabrita, judge Carlos Alexandre, and individuals linked to the ‘Operação Pacoba’ investigation, including the contractor from Construbarcelos.

Chega has also requested access to internal communications, meeting notes, and correspondence from the Judicial Police, the PSP, and the Public Ministry. This includes messages regarding the storage, transport, and destruction of chemicals seized during ‘Operação Pacoba’, as well as documentation concerning public works and contracts involving Construbarcelos.
