Chelsea abandons pursuit of Lamine Camara, favoring other targets

Chelsea FC has reportedly decided to end its pursuit of AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara ahead of the January transfer window. While the London club had reached a verbal agreement of approximately 55 million euros during the summer, the deal collapsed at the last minute when Monaco refused to finalize the transfer.

Following the failed negotiations, Chelsea has shifted its focus toward other midfield targets, specifically Alex Scott of Bournemouth and Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace.

This withdrawal leaves Liverpool FC as the frontrunner to sign the 22-year-old Senegalese international. Liverpool has reportedly established contact with Camara’s representatives and views him as a potential solution to bolster their midfield. AS Monaco, which holds the player's contract until 2029, is expected to demand roughly 60 million euros for the transfer.
