Chelsea eyes €140m January move for Barcelona's Fermin Lopez
Chelsea is reportedly preparing a significant transfer move for Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez during the January window. Manager Xabi Alonso has identified the 23-year-old as a priority target to strengthen the midfield.
Reports suggest Chelsea could offer approximately €140 million (£120 million) to secure the Spanish international. While Barcelona is not actively looking to sell and values the player highly, the massive financial package is being considered as a way to break negotiations.
The interest follows Chelsea's recent midfield changes, including the £125 million sale of Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City and a failed attempt to sign Monaco's Lamine Camara, who was reportedly prepared for a medical before the deal collapsed.
