Everton and Chelsea face off in Premier League seventh-round clash

Everton and Chelsea are set to face each other at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday, October 17, in a key Premier League seventh-round fixture. Both teams currently hold 10 points, with Everton in fifth place and Chelsea in sixth, making the match a direct battle for position in the top four.

Everton, managed by David Moyes, enters the match with a strong defensive record, having conceded only five goals this season. Chelsea, led by Xabi Alonso, boasts a highly productive offense, including a recent 5-1 victory over Bournemouth, but struggles defensively, having conceded 13 goals and failing to keep a clean sheet in 22 consecutive league matches.

Chelsea faces several squad availability issues, with Reece James, Jamie Gittens, and Emmanuel Emegha sidelined. Everton is also monitoring the fitness of Vitaliy Mykolenko. Additionally, Chelsea is expected to debut its new 2026/27 third kit during this away match, which features a retro design inspired by the early 1990s.
