Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso addresses squad rotation and injuries

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has addressed several squad developments ahead of upcoming fixtures. Regarding 19-year-old winger Estêvão Willian, Alonso dismissed reports of dissatisfaction following the player's limited minutes. Alonso confirmed he held private discussions with the Brazilian, noting that Estêvão maintains a “very good attitude” and is part of a group of “untouchable” players at the club, despite tactical competition from Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers.

Alonso also praised Valentin Barco, describing the Argentine midfielder as a “competitor” and a “fighter” who has adapted quickly to the squad. Barco recently played a full 90 minutes in a Carabao Cup victory over Luton Town.

On the injury front, Alonso downplayed concerns regarding defender Levi Colwill, stating that recent issues are minor and not expected to be a long-term injury. Other players currently sidelined or recovering include Moisés Caicedo (calf), Jordan Henderson (wrist), and Emmanuel Emegha (hamstring).
