Chelsea agree deal for Atalanta defender Honest Ahanor

Chelsea has reached an agreement to sign 18-year-old defender Honest Ahanor from Atalanta. The transfer deal is valued at approximately £40 million to £48 million, depending on various add-ons and bonuses.

Ahanor, a versatile player capable of playing at left-back, center-back, or in midfield, has reportedly agreed to personal terms and is set to undergo a medical examination in London. The move follows Chelsea's recent acquisition of Marco Palestra from the same Serie A club.

Under manager Xabi Alonso, Chelsea is looking to bolster its defensive options. While the club is investing heavily in long-term prospects, it remains undecided whether Ahanor will join the first-team squad immediately or be sent on loan to another Premier League club to facilitate his development.
