Chelsea players adapt to tactical shifts under Xabi Alonso

Chelsea winger Estevao Willian has expressed his commitment to improving his position under manager Xabi Alonso following a period of limited playing time. The 19-year-old Brazilian international has accumulated only 23 minutes of Premier League action across five fixtures, largely due to the impact of Morgan Rogers.

Rogers, signed for £117 million, has begun to justify his high transfer fee by recording three goals and an assist in his first five Premier League appearances, alongside three assists in a Carabao Cup victory over Leeds United. Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy noted that while the price tag initially caused skepticism, Rogers has delivered performance that integrates into Alonso’s attacking system alongside players like Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.

Despite reports of concern regarding his future, Estevao stated he is focusing on what he can control by performing well in training and seizing available opportunities. Chelsea's recent 3-0 defeat to Brentford may influence Alonso's tactical decisions, though the manager remains focused on addressing the team's defensive record.
