Chen Chung-chia registers for Changhua County Magistrate election
Chen Chung-chia, a four-term independent county councilor, has officially registered as a candidate for the Changhua County Magistrate election. He was the first person to complete registration for the position, paying a deposit of 160,000 TWD.
Chen stated his decision to run as an independent stems from dissatisfaction with the major political parties—the Blue, Green, and White camps—arguing they prioritize partisan interests over the actual needs and future of Changhua. He noted that he previously belonged to the Taiwan People's Party but left in 2023.
As the son of former legislators Chen Chao-jung and Yu Yue-hsia, Chen possesses local political influence. He emphasized that he did not inform his father of his decision beforehand to avoid familial opposition, as he wishes to focus on his own political path rather than relying on his parents' involvement.
