Chen Hsueh-sheng suspected of corruption and legislative fraud

Kuomintang legislator Chen Hsueh-sheng is under investigation by the Taipei District Prosecutors Office for suspected corruption, bribery, and fraud. Prosecutors conducted simultaneous searches at 35 locations, including Chen's residence, his office in the Legislative Yuan, and several shipping companies.

Chen is accused of using his position to pressure CPC Corporation into facilitating the early termination of a contract for Jin Xin Shipping, allowing the company to avoid replacement transportation costs. Additionally, he is suspected of using relatives as proxies to fraudulently claim legislative assistant salaries and accepting improper benefits, such as having a vendor pay the salary of one of his assistants.
