Chennai Super Kings CEO denies MS Dhoni ownership rumors

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Viswanathan has dismissed reports claiming a rift between the franchise and MS Dhoni regarding ownership stakes. Viswanathan described the rumors, which suggested Dhoni was negotiating for a 20% to 25% stake in the team, as ‘completely baseless.’

Addressing Dhoni’s future with the team following his absence from the 2026 IPL season due to injury, Viswanathan noted that no official decisions have been made. He stated that the franchise would welcome Dhoni back in any capacity, whether as a player, coach, or mentor, adding, ‘MS takes his decisions on his own, and we respect that.’
