Cheongdo County launches community and economic support initiatives
Cheongdo County is conducting various initiatives to support local communities and the regional economy ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
In Hwayang-eup, the Gyeongsangbuk-do Volunteer Center and local volunteer groups transformed Topyeong 3-ri into 'Gyeongbuk Happy Village No. 67.' Approximately 200 participants, including Cheongdo County Governor Park Kwon-hyeon, engaged in community service such as painting murals, repairing bicycles, replacing window screens, and providing hair services to improve the living environment for rural residents.
Simultaneously, local officials led a shopping event at the Punggak Traditional Market to stimulate the local economy. While residents noted increased prices for holiday essentials like vegetables and meat, many continue to visit traditional markets to find more affordable options compared to large supermarkets. The event aimed to encourage the use of local markets as a foundation for the regional economy.
