Cheongyang Chili and Goji Berry Festival draws 116,000 visitors
The 27th Cheongyang Chili and Goji Berry Festival concluded successfully after a three-day event held at Baekse Health Park in Cheongyang-eup. According to Cheongyang County, the festival attracted a total of 116,616 visitors from across the country.
Despite challenging weather conditions, the festival generated over 1.4 billion won in agricultural product sales through on-site direct markets, providing a significant boost to the local economy. The event featured a mix of traditional experiences, such as large-scale kimchi making and goji berry rice cake mosaics, alongside new culinary content including a cooking show by chef Yeo Gyeong-rae.
Cultural performances by various artists and competitions, such as a national high school cooking survival contest and an amateur saxophone ensemble competition, were also central to the festivities. County Governor Kim Hong-yeol expressed gratitude to the farmers, volunteers, and visitors, stating a commitment to developing the event into a competitive, representative national festival.
