Cher and daughter-in-law clash over Elijah Blue Allman conservatorship
A legal dispute is intensifying between singer Cher and her daughter-in-law, Marieangela King Allman, regarding a proposed conservatorship for Elijah Blue Allman. Cher has petitioned for a court-ordered conservatorship and the appointment of a professional fiduciary to manage Allman’s finances, citing concerns over his mental health and legal issues.
In a recent filing, Marieangela King Allman opposed the petition, arguing that she should be prioritized to manage her husband’s affairs. She stated that the move is not a protective intervention but an “adversarial campaign of stripping me of my role as Elijah’s spouse.” She further contended that a conservator selected by Cher could be perceived as punitive and might jeopardize Allman’s recovery process while he is in a psychiatric facility in New Hampshire.
Allman’s legal difficulties include recent arrests in New Hampshire involving charges of trespassing, criminal threats, and burglary. While Cher’s legal team has raised concerns about his well-being, King Allman maintains that Allman is not in immediate danger and has previously expressed opposition to Cher being named his conservator.
