The Cherokee Nation is advancing a plan to earmark $50 million to address childcare needs within the reservation. The proposal has successfully cleared a Tribal Council committee, marking a significant step toward implementation.

This initiative follows other tribal efforts to improve community welfare, including a recent introduction of measures to combat period poverty in schools and the opening of a $22 million childcare center in Catoosa.
