Chery and Avatr expand electric vehicle presence in Brazil
Chery International has announced an ambitious expansion plan for the Brazilian market, aiming for a 17% market share by 2031. The strategy involves launching multiple new brands, including Omoda, Jaecoo, iCAUR, and Lepas, to target diverse consumer segments through electrification and technological innovation.
iCAUR, a new brand of electrified SUVs from the Chery Group, is preparing its entry into Brazil with a focus on robust, square-shaped designs and new energy vehicles. The brand is currently structuring its national operations and meeting with potential investors and dealers. Key upcoming models include the V27 and the V23, which features extended-range electric propulsion.
Simultaneously, the premium electric brand Avatr, operating in Brazil via Caoa Changan, has introduced the Avatr 07L. This SUV features a high-performance triple-motor configuration producing 968 cv and an 800V architecture for rapid charging. The model is designed with a more traditional SUV silhouette compared to previous offerings, emphasizing space and versatility for the Brazilian market.
