Chevrolet aims to maintain affordable pricing for next-generation Corvette C9

Chevrolet chief engineer Tony Roma has stated that the upcoming C9 Corvette will prioritize performance improvements over chasing the high-end pricing of exotic supercars. Despite the C8 generation's shift to a mid-engine layout, Roma emphasized that the brand does not intend to compete directly with the pricing models of manufacturers like Ferrari or Lamborghini.

The current Corvette lineup shows a wide price spectrum, ranging from the $73,795 2027 Stingray to the $227,695 ZR1X. While high-performance variants like the ZR1X have reached price points comparable to European luxury brands, Chevrolet intends to keep the C9 relatively accessible to maintain its core market identity.

Future development for the C9 will focus on enhancing performance, potentially utilizing existing dual-clutch technology rather than a manual gearbox, which presents production and emissions-validation challenges. Official pricing and technical details for the C9 have not yet been released.
