Chevrolet Corvette performance evolution from 1953 to 2027
From its debut in 1953, the Chevrolet Corvette’s zero‑to‑60 mph times improved steadily, dropping from about 11 seconds with the 150‑hp “Blue Flame” inline‑six to roughly 6 seconds by the early 1960s as V8 power and fuel‑injection were introduced.
The 2027 Corvette Stingray returns to a naturally aspirated layout with a new 6.7‑liter LS6 V8 delivering up to 542 bhp and 705 Nm of torque. Chevrolet claims a top speed of 322 km/h (200 mph) and a 0‑60 mph sprint in 2.8 seconds, making it one of the quickest production sports cars in its class.
