Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to receive more powerful V8 engine for 2027

The 2027 model year Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray will feature a significant technical upgrade, replacing the previous 6.2-liter LT2 engine with a 6.7-liter atmospheric LS6 V8. This new engine produces 535 horsepower and approximately 705 Nm of torque, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed exceeding 322 km/h.

However, data from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) indicates that this increase in performance comes at the cost of higher fuel consumption. The 2027 Stingray has a combined fuel economy of 13.07 liters per 100 km (18 mpg), with city driving consumption reaching 15.68 liters per 100 km. These figures place the Corvette's fuel efficiency in a similar range to high-volume V8 SUV models, such as the Chevrolet Tahoe.
