Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X Breaks Pikes Peak Production Record as U.S. Corvette Market Heats Up

A 2027 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X set a new production‑car record at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Driver JR Hildebrand completed the 14,115‑foot course in 9:30.104, eclipsing the previous 9:53.541 time set by David Donner in a 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S. The ZR1X ran on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires and only added required safety equipment such as a roll cage, harness and fuel cell.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Corvette wholesale market remains robust. In Dallas dealer lanes, six C8 Z06s and a rare second‑generation C8 ZR1 were tracked, with new‑car discounts of up to $15,000 and sell‑through rates peaking at 96.7% on May 12. Dealers like Texas Auto Value continue to move large inventories, indicating strong dealer confidence and sustained buyer demand for high‑performance Corvette models.
