Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar FDA suspends licenses of eight food establishments

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the licenses and registration certificates of eight major food establishments in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and surrounding industrial areas. The crackdown was conducted under the ‘Safe Food, Safe Maharashtra’ campaign following inspections that revealed severe hygiene violations.

Key findings included infestations of insects and rats, improper storage of raw and cooked foods, rusted equipment, and a lack of proper sterilization. Specific establishments cited include Hotel Carnival Bar and Restaurant and Hotel Nishant Park Restaurant on Beed Bypass Road, where pests and rusted utensils were observed. In the Waluj MIDC area, Mitali Rajyog and FS Services Private Limited (Endurance Technology Canteen) faced suspension due to inadequate employee medical checks, lack of protective gear like aprons and gloves, and unsanitary kitchen conditions.

Other businesses facing immediate suspension of production, storage, and sales include Radhakrishna Gruh Udyog in Shendra MIDC, Table 9 Garden Restaurant in Balapur, Vidya Enterprises (FDC Company Ltd Canteen), and Green Pure Veg. FDA Assistant Commissioner Shrikant Karkale stated that strict action will continue against any food business operators compromising food quality and safety.
