Chhattisgarh police seize 120 kg of cannabis in major smuggling bust

The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) in Chhattisgarh has intercepted a major cannabis smuggling attempt, seizing approximately 120.060 kilograms of ganja. The operation took place on NH 53 at Rehtikhola following a tip-off regarding a container vehicle traveling from Odisha toward Chhattisgarh.

Police intercepted the vehicle and arrested two individuals identified as Wasim Shah, 38, and Ayub Khan, 56, both residents of Gujarat. Upon inspection, authorities discovered the contraband stored in four plastic sacks within the container. The suspects reportedly intended to transport the drugs from Sambalpur to Gujarat.

The total value of the seized assets, including the cannabis, two mobile phones, and the container vehicle, is estimated at approximately 7,008,500 rupees. Law enforcement has registered a case and is continuing its investigation into the smuggling network.
