Chiang Chi-chen releases first campaign video for Taichung mayoralty

Chiang Chi-chen, the Kuomintang candidate for Taichung Mayor and Deputy President of the Legislative Yuan, has released his first campaign image video titled ‘I am ready • The Bugle of Departure.’ The video aims to outline his vision of transforming Taichung into an ‘international flagship city’ with global competitiveness.

In the video, Chiang reflects on his political journey, including his 2018 primary loss, which he describes as a period that allowed him to adopt a more macro perspective of the entire Taichung region rather than focusing on a single constituency. He utilizes the metaphor of Go (Weiqi) to represent strategic planning and big-picture thinking necessary for urban development.

Chiang’s campaign platform, titled ‘12345 Taichung Happier,’ focuses on leveraging his 15 years of experience in local, central, and international politics to drive municipal growth. The campaign headquarters establishment ceremony is scheduled for October 4 at the intersection of Municipal North 1st Road and Huilai Road, where the video will receive a formal premiere.
