Taiwan local political campaigns

Overview

Local political campaigns are underway in Taiwan, with candidates across different regions presenting their platforms and strategies.

In Zhubei, Taiwan People's Party Chairman Ko Wen-je supported mayoral candidate Chiu Chen-yuan during a campaign visit to local markets and temples. Ko highlighted the importance of the Greater Hsinchu area as a semiconductor hub and urged the campaign to focus on grassroots, face-to-face engagement. The presence of local council leadership at the event prompted discussions regarding potential cross-party cooperation between the TPP and the Kuomintang.

In Taichung, Kuomintang candidate Chiang Chi-chen released a campaign video titled ‘I am ready • The Bugle of Departure.’ The video outlines his vision to transform Taichung into an ‘international flagship city’ and introduces his ‘12345 Taichung Happier’ platform, which emphasizes his experience in local and international politics.
