Taipei mayoral candidates negotiate televised debate details

Taipei mayoral candidates Chiang Wan-an and Shen Po-yang are moving toward a televised debate organized jointly by TVBS and Sanlih E-Television. Negotiations regarding the debate's format, schedule, and specific topics are ongoing.

Chiang Wan-an has expressed openness to participating in one to three debates and has called for Shen Po-yang’s team to send representatives capable of making final decisions to upcoming negotiations. Shen Po-yang has stated he is willing to cooperate with the proposed dates and formats, emphasizing that the priority is to ensure the debates occur for the benefit of the citizens.

During a recent forum at National Taipei University, Shen Po-yang addressed various municipal issues and responded to a question regarding the English translation of a phrase about cross-strait relations, a topic previously linked to a notable moment in Chiang Wan-an’s public speaking.
