Mexico and Chile launch major regional infrastructure and water projects
Various regional governments in Mexico and Chile are launching significant infrastructure projects. In Chiapas, Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar has approved a water supply system for southwest Tuxtla Gutiérrez with an investment exceeding 103 million pesos, benefiting over 27,000 people. Additionally, his administration has allocated more than 200 million pesos for various works in Tenejapa, including road reconstruction, school improvements, and electrification.
In Tamaulipas, the Mayor of Ciudad Madero, Erasmo González Robledo, announced a hydro-sanitary project in La Barra starting in October. The project, costing over 100 million pesos, aims to benefit more than 1,100 families and will be executed in stages through 2027.
In Chile, the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) is investing approximately 35 billion pesos to improve rural drinking water services in the O’Higgins Region, benefiting over 370,000 people. This includes a specific 16.6 billion peso project in Litueche to secure water supply for 5,000 residents.
