Chiapas state infrastructure and economic development

Overview

Governor Eduardo Ramírez continues to prioritize economic connectivity and infrastructure development within Chiapas. During the second anniversary of the National Chamber of Freight Transport (CANACAR) Chiapas delegation, Ramírez emphasized the freight sector’s vital role in connecting regions, delivering basic goods, and facilitating the movement of local products to external markets.

Infrastructure investments remain a central pillar of the administration. In Tuxtla Gutiérrez, residents of the Real del Bosque neighborhood approved a new water supply system exceeding 103 million pesos. In Tenejapa, the administration has allocated over 200 million pesos for community improvements, including the reconstruction of the San Cristóbal-Tenejapa-San Juan Cancuc road and electrical grid expansions. Additionally, the state provides support to coffee producers through the ‘Café con Humanismo’ program.

Recent efforts have expanded across several municipalities. In Sabanilla, the governor inaugurated the 18.1 million peso ‘San Patricio’ vehicular bridge to facilitate economic activity with Tabasco, while Amatán is receiving over 40 million pesos for potable water system expansion.

Educational and regional connectivity projects have also intensified. In the De los Bosques region, the governor launched a road paving project in Pueblo Nuevo Solistahuacán exceeding 12.3 million pesos to improve access to health and commerce, alongside a 1.9 million peso investment for Cobach Plantel 47. In Bochil, the administration inaugurated the rehabilitation of the Villahermosa-Tuxtla Gutiérrez road (Caté-Bochil sub-section) for 4.4 million pesos and announced over 14 million pesos for local educational infrastructure, including works at the Plan de Ayala Primary School.
