Chiapas Governor Eduardo Ramírez honors forest fire fighters, opens schools

Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar of Chiapas marked the National Day of Forest Fire Fighters by recognizing the men and women who combat wildfires. He highlighted the administration’s priority to improve working conditions, equipment and salaries for the brigades of the State Protection Civil Secretariat. The secretary presented a report showing a reduction in fire incidents and the declaration of ten new protected natural areas, opening the possibility of UN Green Fund support for forest conservation.

During the same ceremony, Ramírez inaugurated new educational infrastructure at CBTIS 144, investing 14.7 million pesos to add classrooms and a football‑7 field, benefiting roughly 1,490 students. He also visited the Federal Secondary School Valentín Gómez Farías, handing out 751 backpacks and books, and pledged continued investment in education and youth opportunities in Chiapas.
