Chiara Colosimo warns of organized crime's digital evolution

Chiara Colosimo, President of the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission, has indicated that there are still undiscovered details regarding the 1992 and 1993 massacres. She specifically noted unexpected findings in documents related to Paolo Borsellino’s office at the Prosecutor's Office, which remained open several hours after the Via D’Amelio bombing.

Colosimo also highlighted a “genetic mutation” in organized crime, noting that criminal organizations are increasingly using social media to recruit new generations, communicate, and launder money. She warned that the lack of digital oversight allows these groups to engage in proselytism, presenting a curated image of extreme wealth and luxury that appeals to youth in areas where the state's presence is weak.
