Chiba Prefecture faces power outages and fires due to Typhoon 25

Typhoon 25 has caused widespread power outages across Chiba Prefecture, affecting approximately 24,000 households. Major outages are reported in Ichihara, with about 6,000 homes without power, and Kimitsu, with roughly 5,000 homes affected.

In Ichihara, a residential fire occurred on the evening of September 21 near Ooke. A man and a woman in their 70s were injured in the blaze, which residents believe was caused by a candle used during the blackout. Police are investigating the exact cause of the fire.

In Kimitsu, the power failure has also disrupted water pumping stations, leading to water outages in certain areas. Local authorities are currently conducting water supply operations to assist affected residents.
