Chicago Bears acquire All-Pro DT Jeffery Simmons in blockbuster trade

The Chicago Bears have acquired four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons from the Tennessee Titans in a significant trade. To secure the 29-year-old, Chicago sent the Titans their 2027 and 2028 first-round picks, along with a 2027 fourth-round selection.

Simmons, who led all defensive tackles with 28 pressures earlier this season, is expected to bolster the Bears' interior defense and create more opportunities for edge rusher Montez Sweat. General manager Ryan Poles emphasized the move as a strategic effort to build a championship-caliber roster, despite the high cost in draft capital.

The Titans, currently at a 1-7 record, accepted the offer to accelerate their rebuilding process. Following the trade, Tennessee coach Robert Saleh noted the team's resilience as they move forward without their star defensive player.
